Panic and devastation swept through a community in Benue State following a violent raid by suspected armed herdsmen that left residents traumatised, women abducted, and a local market reduced to ashes. The attack, which reportedly occurred in the early hours, has once again drawn national attention to the worsening security situation in parts of the Middle Belt.
Eyewitnesses narrated that the assailants stormed the community in large numbers, unleashing terror on helpless residents.
