APC Sets Sights on 20 Million Members as E-Registration Approaches 12 Million Mark

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its nationwide membership drive, setting an ambitious target of recruiting over 20 million registered members as its ongoing electronic registration exercise edges close to the 12 million mark.

Party officials disclosed that the e-registration initiative, introduced to modernize the party’s membership database and strengthen internal organization, has recorded significant progress across states. The digital platform, according to the party leadership, is aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and credibility within the APC’s internal processes.

Sources within the party revealed that the growing numbers reflect renewed interest in the APC, particularly among youths and first-time voters who are engaging with the digital registration process. The leadership noted that efforts are being intensified at ward and state levels to sustain the momentum and reach the projected 20 million target.

The party also emphasized that the e-registration exercise is designed to eliminate duplication, ensure accurate data capture, and prepare the APC for future primaries and general elections. Officials added that a credible membership register is key to strengthening internal democracy and effective grassroots mobilization.

Political observers view the development as a strategic move by the ruling party to consolidate its support base ahead of future electoral contests. However, they also note that sustaining engagement and translating numbers into active participation will be critical to achieving long-term political goals.

As the registration drive continues, the APC leadership has urged members and supporters yet to enroll to take advantage of the digital platform, assuring them of a transparent and inclusive process.
