In Igbo culture, apprenticeship (locally known as “Igba Boi”) is a structured mentorship system where young individuals learn trade skills under experienced business owners before gaining financial support to start their own ventures. This model has produced some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria. However, the lure of instant wealth through Okite and other dubious rituals is now tempting many youths to abandon this path, opting instead for shortcuts that often lead to devastating consequences.
Governor Charles Soludo has taken a firm stand against these practices, reinforcing his commitment to eradicating juju-based money-making schemes in Anambra. His administration has been vocal in discouraging ritualistic wealth acquisition, emphasizing that true prosperity comes from hard work, education, and legitimate business ventures.
