There was mild drama in court earlier this week as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), made a statement that left everyone — from his legal team to government officials — completely puzzled.
During his court appearance, Kanu reportedly told his lawyer that he had “given an order for fundraising to support both the Rising Sun and the Ambassadors, so that everyone will be prepared.”
The remark immediately stirred confusion in the courtroom. Neither the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives nor government representatives present could clearly interpret what the IPOB leader meant by “Rising Sun” and “Ambassadors.”
According to insider sources, the Nigerian Police have since invited Kanu’s lawyer for questioning, seeking clarification on the purpose and nature of the alleged fundraising.
Kanu’s cryptic message has sparked a wave of speculation and debate across social media, with some supporters interpreting it as a coded call to unity, while others fear it could hint at a new movement or strategy within IPOB’s structure.
At the moment, neither the Nigerian government nor the public can say for certain what Kanu meant — leaving many Nigerians curious and concerned about what might come next.
