326 Students Smile as Umeh Rolls Out ₦64m Scholarship Scheme

Education took centre stage in Anambra State as Senator Victor Umeh rolled out a massive scholarship package worth ₦64 million, benefiting 326 students drawn from different parts of the state.

The lawmaker described the initiative as part of his long-standing commitment to human capital development, noting that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to secure a better future for society. According to him, the scholarship scheme is designed to ease the financial burden on students and their families while encouraging young people to stay focused on their academic pursuits.

Beneficiaries of the programme include students in tertiary institutions, who were selected based on clearly defined criteria aimed at promoting fairness and inclusiveness. Umeh emphasized that the gesture was not driven by politics, but by a genuine desire to support learning and empower the next generation of leaders.

Parents and beneficiaries at the event expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, describing the scholarship as a major relief in the face of rising education costs. Many of the students pledged to make the most of the opportunity by excelling in their studies and contributing positively to society.

The scholarship presentation attracted community leaders, education stakeholders and well-wishers, who commended the senator for prioritising education and setting an example for others in public office.

With the ₦64 million scholarship intervention, Umeh has once again reinforced his belief that education remains the strongest tool for development, while hundreds of Anambra students return to their campuses with renewed hope and motivation.
