Officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have successfully rescued a driver who was trapped inside a fallen truck following an accident on a major Lagos roadway.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the truck lost balance and overturned, leaving the driver pinned inside the vehicle. LASTMA officials, who were on routine traffic monitoring, quickly moved to the scene and coordinated an emergency response to prevent further danger.
Eyewitnesses said the officers worked swiftly to control traffic, secure the area, and carefully free the trapped driver from the wreckage. The victim was later handed over to medical personnel for immediate attention, while the damaged truck was removed to restore free flow of traffic.
LASTMA commended its officers for their prompt action, stressing that rapid response and road safety remain top priorities for the agency. Motorists were also advised to adhere strictly to traffic rules and vehicle safety standards to reduce road accidents.
