The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to individuals it described as “imposters,” declaring that the party will take decisive steps to restore order and protect its structure across the country.
Speaking on the development, leaders of the opposition party stressed that the ADC remains committed to preserving its identity and internal discipline, noting that certain individuals allegedly parading themselves as representatives of the party do not have legitimate backing.
According to the party’s leadership, such actions are capable of creating confusion among supporters and undermining the credibility of the party ahead of future political activities. They maintained that the ADC will not tolerate any attempt to hijack its platform or mislead the public.
The party further emphasized that measures are already being put in place to identify those involved and ensure that only recognized members and officials represent the party in official capacities. Leaders also reassured supporters that the party’s structure remains intact and firmly under the control of its authentic leadership.
Political observers say the statement highlights growing tensions within some political parties in Nigeria as preparations gradually begin for future political contests. Internal disputes and claims of illegitimate representation have become a recurring challenge within the nation’s political landscape.
Despite the controversy, the ADC leadership called on members and supporters to remain calm and loyal to the party’s principles while efforts are made to address the situation.
They reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party’s internal systems and ensuring that individuals who do not belong to the party are prevented from exploiting its name for personal or political gain.
