Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a businessman at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after allegedly discovering cocaine concealed in his private parts during routine screening.
According to information made available by the agency, the suspect was intercepted while undergoing standard security checks ahead of an international flight. NDLEA officers reportedly became suspicious of his movement and subjected him to a more thorough search, which led to the shocking discovery.
The agency disclosed that the illicit substance was carefully wrapped and hidden in a manner intended to evade detection, a tactic NDLEA officials say has become increasingly common among drug traffickers. The suspect was immediately taken into custody for further investigation.
NDLEA officials reaffirmed their commitment to tightening surveillance at airports and other entry points, warning that traffickers should expect no safe passage regardless of their status or concealment methods.
The arrest has once again drawn attention to the persistent challenge of drug trafficking in Nigeria and the evolving strategies employed by smugglers to beat security systems.
