The family of 29-year-old Nkiru Osakweogo is in distress following her disappearance after attending a job interview in Lekki, Lagos State.
Osakweogo, who resides at 58 Kirikiri Road, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, left home on January 25, 2025, for the interview but has not returned since.
Her sister, Obianuju Osakweogo, told The Guardian that all attempts to reach her have been unsuccessful, as her phone has been switched off and she has not been active online. She expressed deep concern, noting that Nkiru had never been out of contact for such a long period.
“Nkiru is a private person. She only informed our other sister about the job interview but didn’t mention the company’s location. Later, she sent a message saying she got the job, that staff accommodation was provided, and that she would be staying there. She also mentioned that the network in the area was poor. Since then, we have not heard from her,” Obianuju explained.
The family reported the incident to the police, but according to them, authorities stated that their options were limited due to the lack of a specific address.
The family is urging anyone with information about Nkiru’s whereabouts to contact them at 07038406112 or 07062396321.
Efforts by The Guardian to reach Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or WhatsApp messages.
