As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, indications suggest that the Labour Party may once again present Hon. Munachi Alozie as its candidate for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency seat.
Political observers believe that with Hon. Peter Azubuike now occupying the position of State Party Chairman, the major internal resistance that could have hindered Hon. Munachi Alozie’s emergence no longer exists within the party structure.
However, beyond party politics and internal arrangements, many constituents insist that leadership should be evaluated based on performance, competence, accountability, and visible impact on the lives of the people.
A growing number of stakeholders across the constituency have continued to express dissatisfaction over what they describe as ineffective representation during Hon. Munachi Alozie’s previous tenure in office. According to concerned residents and political actors, the constituency deserves a representative who is more accessible, proactive, and committed to grassroots development.
Speaking on the political situation, Paul Chinweoke openly declared that he would not support Hon. Munachi Alozie’s re-election bid in 2027.
According to him, the future of the constituency and the welfare of the people must take priority over political loyalty and sentiments.
He stated that the people can no longer afford another four years of what many perceive as underperformance and lack of impactful representation.
Paul Chinweoke further emphasized that the 2027 election should be an opportunity for the electorate to choose a more competent, visionary, and people-oriented leader who understands the needs of the masses and possesses the capacity to deliver effective representation.
He maintained that remaining silent despite public dissatisfaction would amount to complicity and betrayal of the collective interest of the people.
“As for me, I will neither work nor campaign for Hon. Munachi Alozie in 2027. Rather, I will actively mobilize and campaign for credible leadership and ensure that the people support a candidate who is capable, responsible, and committed to the advancement of Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency,” he stated.
As the political atmosphere gradually intensifies ahead of 2027, all eyes remain on the major political parties and the choices that will shape the future of the constituency.
