Governor Hope Uzodimma has officially emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District, popularly known as Orlu Zone, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made at the party’s collation centre in Orlu Local Government Area by the Chairman and Returning Officer of the National Assembly APC Primary Election Committee for Imo State, Rear Admiral Williams Kayode (Rtd), who declared the outcome of the primary election after the completion of the collation process.
According to the official results, Governor Uzodimma recorded a sweeping victory, securing a total of 230,464 votes across the twelve local government areas that make up Orlu Zone, further demonstrating his significant influence within the party structure.
His closest challenger and former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, secured 1,098 votes, trailing far behind in the contest.
Political observers see the outcome as a strong indication of Uzodimma’s continued dominance within the APC in Imo State and a major boost to his political standing ahead of the 2027 elections.
With this victory, Governor Uzodimma has now secured the party’s ticket and will represent the APC in the Imo West Senatorial race, setting the stage for what could become one of the closely watched contests in the upcoming general elections.
