Life has once again proven to be unpredictable as veteran Kogi State-born journalist, Mr. Otori Ozigi, has announced the end of his 37-year marriage.
The marriage, which lasted nearly four decades, was blessed with four children, all of whom are graduates and gainfully employed in reputable organizations.
In an emotional public statement, Mr. Ozigi disclosed that he and his wife had mutually decided to end their marriage due to what he described as “emerging irreconcilable differences.”
Reflecting on the difficult decision, he revealed that the last photograph they took together as husband and wife now serves as a lasting reminder of the end of their long union.
Despite the separation, the veteran journalist spoke fondly of his estranged wife, describing her as the love of his life.
“She was the love of my life. She was my sunshine. I will miss her so much. Let me cry a river,” he wrote.
Mr. Ozigi wished her a long life, prosperity, and success in all her future endeavours.
Speaking on the challenges that led to the breakup, he said he fought with everything within his power to save the marriage but ultimately could not overcome the circumstances. He added that “the devil is tirelessly working 24 hours round the clock.”
Although he described himself as embracing a “happy but lonely life,” he humorously noted that while he is now single again, he is “not available.”
He also stated that their children are free to remain with their mother if they choose.
In a reflective conclusion, Mr. Ozigi shared his thoughts on life and legacy, noting that even a man without biological children can still receive a befitting burial because of the positive impact he has made on others.
