Abia South 2027: Engr Chinedu Onyeizu Withdraws from Senatorial Race Amid Speculations of Supporting Abaribe

Frontline aspirant for the Abia South Senatorial seat, Engr Chinedu Onyeizu, has officially withdrawn from the 2027 senatorial race, reaffirming his loyalty, commitment, and obedience to the party leadership and its collective decisions.

In a statement made available to party faithful and supporters across Abia South, Onyeizu explained that his decision was taken in the interest of party unity, discipline, and the overall progress of the Senatorial District, stressing that the success of the party must always come before personal ambition.

His withdrawal has, however, sparked political speculations within the district, with many observers alleging that the move may be aimed at giving former Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, a clearer path to secure the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although there has been no official confirmation regarding the speculation, the development has continued to generate reactions and discussions within political circles across Abia South.

The respected engineer and politician expressed deep appreciation to Alex Otti, supporters, political associates, youths, women groups, and stakeholders across the six local government areas for their overwhelming support, encouragement, and belief in his vision throughout the consultation period.

According to Onyeizu, the love and solidarity shown to him remain invaluable and will never be taken for granted.

He further urged his supporters to remain calm, united, and steadfast while giving their full support to the party and its leadership structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Onyeizu noted that leadership is not always about occupying political office, but sometimes about making difficult sacrifices that strengthen peace, unity, and collective progress.

He also reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the party, assuring members and supporters that he would continue to contribute meaningfully toward the growth of the party and the development of Abia State at large.

Political observers have described the decision as a strong display of maturity, discipline, and statesmanship capable of promoting stability and unity within the party ahead of the elections.
